News Article03/01/2007New Director requiredJob Description – Director of Contaminated Land Services Line Manager – Managing Director Location – South Wales / South Are you an existing director or at a senior level with an environmental consultancy? If so then this is an opportunity for you to benefit by having total responsibility for developing this new business arm. You will be rewarded with both a competitive remuneration package and an equity shareholding. You will have total responsibility for sales, recruitment and technical direction of this new division. Role - To generate and consolidate sales for both the site investigation (and contaminated land remediation sides of the business, where applicable). - To be competent in employing both technical and sales staff to service the above customers. - To utilise and be familiar with the use of risk assessment software (CLEA / SNIFFER / RAM etc) and mapping software (GIS) to aid in the sampling and remediation of contaminated land projects. - To be competent in producing conceptual models for the above projects, and drafting necessary Phase I reports and Phase II site specific sampling strategies, including 2-D and 3-D site mapping techniques. - To have an understanding of any related Geotechnical issues (e.g. Foundation Design) and hydrogeological issues, and employ qualified sub-contractors where applicable. - To ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS10175; BS5930 and any other applicable legislation / best practice guidance. - To be competent in recommending remediation strategies, that are aligned with each customers objectives. - To hold the necessary personnel skills to act as line manager for any staff working within the contaminated land sector. - To have a ‘hands on’ approach with all operations until additional staff are employed. - To manage the employment of qualified sub-contract staff / labour as applicable. - To direct 3rd party laboratories to carry out correct analysis suites after in depth site research and relevant liaison with regulatory bodies. - To be proactive in meeting with new customers (to include outbound telephone calling; attending networking events; arranging and attending meetings; and sending out relevant correspondence), and generating new business. - To sell all other Hazrem services when meeting with site contacts and potential customers. - To identify other field tools that will allow us to provide a more comprehensive service and help differentiate us from our competitors.
